How to Use RENCO Vegetable Rennet

Use:

Dose Rate - 2 mLs per calf per feed from birth for 4 -5 weeks.
How - Dispensed directly into milk immediately prior to feeding.

If feeding warm milk you may find it easier to dispense the rennet into the calfeteria when all the calves are sucking. Some rearers tip a little milk in, then dispense the rennet which will of course be sucked away very quickly, followed by the remainder of the milk.

(The rennet will cause the warm milk to clot quickly, its action in cold milk is a little slower. This rapid clotting can lead to blocked teats, unhappy calves and frustrated calf rearers. The above suggestions will avoid this)

Remember:

Rennet is natural, has no witholding period.
Feed yoghurt containing live cultures mixed directly into the milk as an added supplement.
Rennet should be stored out of the sunlight, long term storage should involve refrigeration.
